Youth Programs & Activities
The El Centro Police Activities League Sports programs strive to increase the physical activity of young people, while decreasing their risk-taking behaviors by providing opportunities for youth from low income families to play on well-equipped, organized sports leagues. In addition to providing sports and recreation programs within PAL, El Centro PAL also hosts tournaments and encourages external independent teams to register and participate.
El Centro PAL also offers other programs such as computer labs to assist youth. El Centro PAL offers these sports and activities at a very minimal cost or free to better accommodate the needs of our most targeted population.
The league is coached entirely by volunteers and serves families from El Centro and nearby communities. This program runs ten months out of the year, which includes the Fall, Spring, and Summer seasons. The soccer program is open to children ages 5 thru 14 years. Seasons usually last 10 weeks with a tournament. Games are usually held during week days after 6pm in at Swarthout Field in El Centro and practice days are arranged with the coach at Swarthout Field or at Carlos Aguilar Field..
